Dear Parents,
It was a spooky and fun filled week in Preschool 2! We want to thank you all for the pumpkin donations, as we had a lot of fun exploring the inside and outside of a variety of pumpkins. We also roasted some pumpkin seeds and our preschoolers were very adventurous in trying them! Next week we will continue with a Halloween related theme but focus on the book 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. This is an adorable story about a witch who keeps dropping things off of her broom and she is lucky enough to have good friends to help her along the way. If you don't have this book there are many 'read aloud' versions on youtube. Below are more curriculum highlights: Math: Is there room on your broom? (predicting and measuring) Building Rug: Finger puppet theater with story characters Art: Making bowties and magic wands Literacy: Making rhyming words (starting with the '_at' family) Science: Making magic potions Table for Two: Creating a Preschool 2 magic spell book IMPORTANT EVENTS AND REMINDERS: 1. Monday is our annual Halloween Parade. We have attached the flyer again if you need a reminder! Also, if your child would like to wear their costume to school, that is fine. Just be sure to send a change of clothes so we can change after the parade. 2. Apparently the cold weather is here! Please be sure to send in a coat, hat and gloves everyday. Also, please replenish your child's spare clothing bin with long sleeves, pants, etc. The website has been updated with recent pics so be sure to check them out! Have a great weekend! Best, Preschool Two
